Arpan Mukhopadhyay, better known as ‘Ali’, had passed away at the tender age of twenty as the result of an accident in January 1999. He left behind a large number of paintings and sketches. It took his parents, Swapna and Badal Mukhopadhay , ten years to bring out a book containing his paintings, ‘Ali’s World’, which was published by Roli Books in 2008. The book received rave reviews in the press and contrary to the forecast of the Publishers, sold many copies. When at the end of the first year a fat royalty cheque arrived, it was decided to open a charitable Trust, AMMT, and the cheque was deposited in the Trust account. Arpan was diagnosed with Dyslexia when he was in senior school.
